Noordwijk and Surroundings

Since 1866 Noordwijk has been the internationally known flower spa in Europe, which is located in the Dunes and Flower Region – Duin en Bollenstreek.

Noordwijk has a promenade with numerous restaurants, the lighthouse, an old town, shopping streets and numerous pubs and discos.  There are many festivals on weekends throughout the year.  On the beach there are many beach pavilions  some with a playground for children.

Beach Duindamseslag

In the nearby National Park Hollandse Duinen there are endless hiking, horse and (mountain) bike paths, beautiful dunes and the 13 km long sandy beach of Noordwijk.

Beach Duindamseslag  (# 24) can be reached on foot, by bike or partially by car from  It is about 1600 m – 20 minutes walk to the beach or 5 minutes by bike from VacationVilla.  There is a free parking on the edge of the forest (Randweg), from where the beach can be reached in just 10 minutes on foot (600 m) on a well-paved path with a separate bike line.  The beach pavilion De Zeespiegel, the lifeguards and the dog beach are located on this beach. The beach is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.  A nudist beach is in the immediate vicinity (# 23).

Beach Langevelderderslag

Beach Langevelderslag # 27  with paid parking (5 euros per day) is 3 km north of VacationVilla.  The beach is located 100 meters from the parking lot.  There is a year round restaurant Nederzandt with a large playground and a pancake shop, an ice cream parlor, a snack bar with fish and chips.  During the season, the surfing school is open and lifeguards are on duty.
There is a dog beach outside the main entrance to the beach.  The beach is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

A hiking trail to the nature reserve Noordvoort and a dwarf hiking trail for children begin here.

Recreation Area Oosterduinse Meer

Fancy a break from the beach?  Try the nature and recreation area at Oosterduinse Meer. This lake is located 4 km north of VacationVilla.  It can be reached on foot, by bicycle or by car.  There is a small beach, a bathing area, kayak and rowboat rental place, a restaurant and a free parking.  Hiking trails in the nature with the sounds of chirping birds make it a perfect day outdoors.

Keukenhof and Flower Fields

In the Spring and Summer the area is very colorful as the flower fields are directly located outside of the holiday park.  The world famous Spring park Keukenhof is only 9 km away from VacationVilla.  The flower parade of Bollenstreek (from Noordwijk to Haarlem) with beautiful floats is organised every year in April .  The Summer flower parade is always organised on the second Saturday of August and goes from Rijsburg via Katwijk to Noordwijk.

Would you like to pick your own tulips, dahlias or other seasonal flowers or take an unforgettable photo with the flowers? It is possible to do it all in De Pluktuin, located 4 km from the Vacation Villa, in Noordwijkerhout.
